Highly Selective

When I first saw Lindsey Thornburg’s cloaks I thought to myself “if only I would have thought to drape a Navajo blanket over myself and charge $800 for it…” In her biography it says that she started working on her self-titled collection after a trip to the Peruvian highlands and that she derives her inspiration from the attire of the indigenous people. Somehow I highly doubt she derives her price point from them as well…

However it seems Ms. Thornburg was on to something, note this Opening Ceremony collaboration with wool manufacturer Pendleton for fall which also marks the company’s 100th anniversary.

And it wasn’t until I finally stumbled across an interview with Joni Harbeck and Neil Krug that I realized these pictures were not, in fact, vintage rarities dug up from some photo archive, but a modern collaboration between the model and photographer for their upcoming book entitled Pulp.

I’m just in love with every aspect of these photos, from the saturation of colors to the simple styling to the romanticism of the untamed. Perfection.
